Put the milk and sugar in a saucepan and heat while stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. As soon as the milk starts bubbling, remove the pot from the stove. Add the almonds and stir. Pour the mixture into a jug and cover tightly. Refrigerate for 1 day. Serve cold.
